Floor done, Summer Fun, Too Much Sun, Birthday--another one!

It is my birthday today--number 27. Birthdays are a real hoot. The interesting thing for me is that I never feel older, maybe that happens once I get to 30, but I still feel 22. Hopefully I can say that every year!

This year's birthday had an outdoors theme to it as far as presents were concerned. Out in Idaho, I recieved an 4-5 day backcountry pack for all the future adventures from Mom and Dad Brown. Lindsay and I also treated ourselves to a backpackers stove from Sierra Trading Post--perhaps the greatest store on earth. So with a backpack and stove, what else does one need? A rain jacket of course! From my parents, I recieved Marmot Precip Jacket--very good looking, and well functioning! Linds has hinted that the theme will continue tonight with her presents--so who knows what else there will be! Hopefully it is an electric drum set.

Here is a picture of our finished floors--they turned out pretty well!

The pets seem to enjoy the new floors.

Lindsay, Bain, Laura, and I went to Frankfort last week to our property (the picture of the lake at the top of this page is the view from it). We had an awesome time--the water was perfect, the sun was hot, and Charlie ate an entire seagull wing. I acquired my last sunburn of the summer, peeling has followed.

Charlie admits that maybe the wing was a little too much.

Mackinac Island was also one of our moments shared last week. Lindsay and I traveled up for her annual company retreat. We really had a fun time. One and a half days is the perfect amount of time to spend there-- otherwise you get island fever! Bring your bike if you go, we used ours a ton, and horses are a lousy way to get around (mine fell over). Food is my life, and if it is yours too, I suggest The Island House.

Last but not least, FAMILY CAMP OUT AND TIGERS GAME! My family held a second annual family campout in Mason. We slept in tents, swam in the pond, went on male bonding jogs, and talked alot, mostly all at the same time! Saturday afternoon, the boys took off for a Tigers game (a good win for the Tiges), and the ladies shopped at Trader Joes and IKEA. Thanks to Mom and Dad Rumohr for the good time!

Charles the dog also was part of the camp out. He had the time of his life, but the ride home was a little cramped:

It took every bit of Chuck's power to not open the Oberon on the way back to Cadillac.
